Pricing & quotations
Every engagement is scoped and priced individually.
Octothorp provides bespoke professional services rather than a fixed-price retail catalogue. You receive a written quotation before any payment is requested.
What your quotation contains
The quotation identifies the services, deliverables, assumptions, estimated timeline, price, VAT, payment schedule and applicable third-party costs. Its terms apply to that engagement once accepted.
Octothorp ZA is a registered VAT vendor. When it is the contracting entity, quotations and invoices clearly identify the fee before VAT, the VAT amount and the total payable. Every quotation identifies the entity supplying the services.
Typical payment structure
- The initial consultation and discovery conversation is generally free.
- A 50% deposit is typical, but the quotation may specify another arrangement.
- The balance may be tied to milestones, delivery or monthly intervals.
- Approved recurring services may be billed under a separate support or retainer agreement.
Quotation validity
Quotations are normally valid for 30 calendar days unless another period is stated. Octothorp may extend or honour an expired quotation in writing at its discretion.
Material changes to the scope, assumptions or timing may require a revised quotation or approved change request.
What affects the price?
- The agreed scope, deliverables and technical complexity.
- Project duration, urgency and the number of review cycles.
- Required integrations, data migration, infrastructure and security work.
- Ongoing support, maintenance or service-level requirements.
- Third-party services such as domains, hosting, licences and stock assets.
Online payments
Where relevant, Octothorp may provide a secure Paystack payment request for an accepted quotation or issued invoice. Paystack is a payment processor and is not responsible for Octothorp's services, delivery, support, refunds or dispute resolution.
Initially, online payments are intended for once-off invoice payments. Recurring payments will only be used where a client expressly agrees to a recurring support, maintenance or retainer arrangement and receives cancellation instructions.
